This interactive workshop is designed to assist managers in effectively navigating the accommodations process, while helping participants to understand employers’ and employees’ rights and responsibilities under the ADA. It is our hope this information will help employers comply with disability laws, enabling them to maximize the potential of employees with disabilities.

About the Presenter

AJ Nanayakkara has been a disability advocate for two decades. 

He was recently the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Accessibility Program Manager for the Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS). 

In that role, AJ developed policies to ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding individuals with disabilities, and he produced training to reinforce policies. 

Prior to joining JHHS, AJ served as an Accessibility Consultant and the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization. In these roles, he provided expertise in program development, accessibility accommodations, disability policy, adaptive recreation, and education.
